Well we just like it natural, fun and relaxed.
We don’t use backdrops and lighting sets much any more. We have over the years but found it wasn’t giving us what we wanted to see. The kids just aren’t themselves and often provided a “cheesy Smile” on demand. Lots of the little ones cried and got upset so this wasn’t much fun for us either!
While using the traditional method give us, as photographers, a really consistent look to our images and can easily replicated week after week, setting to setting…they all look just the same wherever we go.

So taking away our comfortable setup made us work a bit harder but the children were more at ease and we just let them play. This give us a chance to capture the real characters, real smiles as the children love to play in their environment. They rarely do in the traditional studio style.
